Posted: 13th March 2015

The capital value of the premises as a shop was in the order of £175,000 however by marketing the space to developers, Marchmont was able to obtain multiple offers at a quoting price of £350,000, almost double.

Marchmont also received a list of 20 new disposal instructions from William Hill on 29th July 2014 and attended the client’s office on 1st August 2014 in order to extract all relevant lease and tenure information from their files in order to go live with the disposals on 12th August 2014.

Stephen Weatherstone from Marchmont explains “William Hill saw a strong interest in the space they were releasing, the commercial property market started to show buoyancy in 2014 and we have seen a continuation of this in early 2015 with parties making it clear they are looking for space in the right locations and with fair terms. We are proud and pleased with the end result here and continue to monitor the marketplace closely.”

The first viewing took place on 1st August and a total of 51 viewings were conducted on 17 properties between the 1st August 2014 and 2nd September 2014.  Marchmont attended a second meeting with the client on 2nd September to present multiple offers on 17 out of 20 of the disposal properties.
